What is twill? Fashion vocabulary

First of all what is twill? It’s a type of fabric weave with a pattern of diagonal ribs. You can see it clearly in my knitted sweater by Gamiss, featuring parallel ribs in both sides. But did you know that denim is a twill fabric too? In fact, this particular type of weave makes fabrics more durable, and easy to recover from creasing. So if you’re looking for a dress which will drape nicely and will look like freshly ironed throughout the day, make sure it’s in twill cotton. Small fashion blogger trick!

How to wear an oversize knit and look glam

Let me show you one of my go-to outfits for looking stylish in Winter without getting a cold! I love wrapping up in bulky oversize knits. Who doesn’t when temperatures are this low? Here’s my secret to rock oversize knits without looking like I’m heading to a ski resort: shoes. No sneakers or flat trekking boots of course. Choose badass shoes, be them killer heels like the ones I’m wearing today, or cool military boots, biker boots, sexy pumps. You don’t need to dress up your oversize knit, but you might definitely want to add an urban twist to it.

My cozy chic look to keep warm with style

Back to my outfit of the day, I styled my twill knit sweater over skinny black pants. And I gave it a glam twist with stiletto heels. I’m loving all the latest fashion trends in boots this year! For example pointy toe ankle boots with stiletto heels like the ones I’m wearing today. About my bag, why not brighten up a dark coloured outfit with an off-white IT bag? And so I did. Innanzitutto cos’è il twill? Si tratta di un tipo di tessuto con una trama a rigatura diagonale. Lo potete vedere chiaramente nell’intreccio del mio maglione di Gamiss, con righe diagonali parallele in entrambe le direzioni. Ma lo sapevate che anche il denim è un tessuto twill? In realtà, questo particolare tipo di intreccio rende i tessuti più resistenti e scongiura l’effetto stropicciato. Quindi se state cercando un abito strutturato che sembri appena stirato per tutto il giorno, prediligete il twill di cotone. Piccolo trucco da fashion blogger!

Come indossare un maglione oversize per un look glam

Voglio mostrarvi uno dei miei outfit preferiti per avere un look fashion in Inverno senza prendermi un raffreddore. Adoro avvolgermi in caldi maglioni oversize. Chi non li ama con queste temperature così basse? Vi svelo il mio segreto per indossare maglioni oversize senza sembrare in partenza per la settimana bianca: le scarpe. No a sneakers e a scarponcini da trekking o stivaletti australiani. Scegliete scarpe grintose, siano esse tacchi vertiginosi come quelli che indosso, anfibi militari, biker boots o décolleté sexy. Non serve che rendiate troppo elegante il vostro maglione oversize. Ma aggiungete un dettaglio urban e sarete super fashion!

Tornando al mio outfit del giorno, ho abbinato il mio maglione oversize in twill ad un paio di pantaloni skinny. Poi ho aggiunto un dettaglio urban: tacchi a stiletto. Adoro le ultime tendenze moda in fatto di stivali quest’anno! Per esempio gli stivaletti a punta con tacco a stiletto come quelli che indosso oggi. Riguardo alla mia borsa, perché non illuminare un outfit dai toni scuri con una IT bag bianco latte? Così ho fatto. Per un tocco rock, ho scelto i miei occhiali da sole studded by Valentino. E un rossetto color vino, dall’ultima collezione di Maybelline #makelovehappen.
